A Tribute to the Lady
I'm not too sure if readers will agree with me on this. The greatest woman who ever graced this planet has her origins from the Middle East. She was the most beautiful and most devoted lady of all ("I am the Lord's servant," she proclaimed).
She is adored by both Catholics and Muslims.
The woman's name is Mary. And today, September 8th, is her birthday. Happy birthday, Mother Mary!
To celebrate Mother Mary's birthday, I am reprinting below the lyrics of The Beatles' '70s hit song, Let it Be.
The victims of hurricane Katrina will somehow find consolation two from the lyrics of Let it Be.

When I find myself in times of trouble, mother Mary comes to me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.
And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree,
there will be an answer, let it be.
For though they may be parted there is still a chance that they will see,
there will be an answer. let it be.
Let it be, let it be, .....
And when the night is cloudy, there is still a light, that shines on me,
shine until tomorrow, let it be.
I wake up to the sound of music, mother Mary comes to me,
speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.....

New Orleans Tragedy in Retrospect
In the wake of last week's tragedy spawned by hurricane Katrina, this 24/7 blogger reminisces the '60s era hit song, House of the Rising Sun.
Photo taken from NationalGeographic.com web site; photographed by James Nielsen/AFP/Getty Images.
The song was alternately sung by the popular groups in the '60s: Doors, the Animals, and Rolling Stones.
As New Orleans, and America in the greater landscape, are busy finding and counting the dead, the House of the Rising Sun is being played in this jaded blogger's ears. Here is the complete lyrics of the song:
There is a house in New Orleans They call the Rising Sun And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy And God I know I'm one
My mother was a tailor She sewed my new bluejeans My father was a gamblin' man Down in New Orleans
Now the only thing a gambler needs Is a suitcase and trunk And the only time he's satisfied Is when he's on a drunk
Oh mother tell your children Not to do what I have done Spend your lives in sin and misery In the House of the Rising Sun
Well, I got one foot on the platform The other foot on the train I'm goin' back to New Orleans To wear that ball and chain
Well, there is a house in New Orleans They call the Rising Sun And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy And God I know I'm one
If you wish to give your donations to the victims on the Gulf of Mexico's outlying areas through the Red Cross, just click the banner on the left and you will be taken to the organization's web server.
